Fame at last.

Today saw my appearance in 'My Favourite Outfit', a regular feature in the UK national newspaper 'The Observer'.

My attire was inspired, in part at least, by George Hilton's stylish sports jacket and polo neck combo in the splendid 1972 Italian thriller 'The Case of the Deadly Iris' (aka 'Perché Quelle Strane Gocce di Sangue sul Corpo di Jennifer?' aka 'Why Are Those Strange Drops of Blood on the Body of Jennifer?'). A form of Giallo cosplay if you like.

Oh, I feel cheated now that I've seen George Hilton's outfit. Are you sure you weren't more inspired by a Morecambe & Wise Giallo parody.
That made my Sunday. Top stuff.
Picked up the Observer just for this article. Looking good Mr Kane. Hopefully the plug for this blog will mean even more hits.
Very smart indeed. Congratulations on your found fame!
I thank you.
Apart from your unassailable fashion sense, what makes this photo for me is the strangely iconic pose. Kudos to you and the photographer both.
Zowie! All ready for us to cut you out and stand you next to our Darwin Cooke New Frontier action figures!
Yes, Very smart look and enviable hero pose... This is how I would like to look if I could afford to by clothes...
you are fabulous mr.kane!!!
this is soooo coooollllll!
I've been poring over this brilliant blog for past few days wondering who this Will Kane bloke is then I see the Observer picture and realise that you're the fella I was chatting with in Gosh the other Saturday. I was the comic artist who was asking if you had any Breccia and small press publications and waffling about my intention to self publish.
Anyway, thanks for the help, and thanks for this blog!
Rob
Ah. You have comment moderation. No wonder my comment won't appear. Doh!
Very action figure indeed. Love it!
Hah, ha, hah! You dandy, you!
"Hah, ha, hah! You dandy, you!"
Yes, I wouldn't wish to give people the impression that I dress like this everyday; except of course I'd absolutely love people to have the impression that I dress like this everyday!
Thank you to all who have commented so far.
Wow, I'll have to check out Uniqlo, because I love the shirt.
Ditto to the Pete Doherty comment. It's baffling to see how many sellers of mod clothing on Ebay use his name as a keyword, as if anyone in their right mind would want to look like him.
Congrats on the appearance! And, yes, I love the outfit!
Mr. Kane...suweeet!
ace clothes, a top look, and stylish pose- you got it going on!
and never let age stop you expressing yourself!
x
Aww, cheers Mordi!
Amazing stuff. Maybe society isn't going down the pan. Keep fighting the good fight for dapper!
Congrats! Thats a great looking sports jacket!
happy halloween mr.kane!
do you have that in england?
i have a great clip from 1973 season of the witch on my blog i think you'd LOVE
We do have Hallowe'en in England, but it's not as big a deal as it is in the U.S.
Our big winter festival is "Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night" on November the 5th.

We had rather a large celebration here in the States this year on the Fifth of November, too! I don't think Obama Day will become a regular national holiday, but that doesn't take anything away from it.
Word verification: "dullsist". To dully insist, something I do better than anyone, I assure you. No, really, I am the best. The dullest. The most -- oh, never mind.
